Fine filigree silverwork in a sculptural floral design, makes up this attractive pair of vintage Spanish style sterling silver hoop type earrings with center drop or dangle, circa late 50s. 

The decorative earrings consist of sterling silver and feature a floral design with elaborate filigree hoop and 3D caged drop which suspends in the center, along with an unusual “Softouch” ear clip mechanism (see pic of 1955 patent, later issued in 1957), which depresses downward as shown to provide tension on the ear lobe.

The hoop portions measure approximately 1&3/16 inches round, and the earrings hang about 1&3/4 inches in length, top to bottom, weigh 22.1 grams combined, and are marked “Sterling” and “Softouch”, “Pat. 2776555”.
